i never understood how someone could live in their cars. This may not make sense in the fashion world - but in all reality it does. I had friends in high school who would pretty much live out of their car. How is that sanitary and fashionable? How does one shower, do their hair, brush their teeth, etc.? Also storing your clothing in your car can also be quite disgusting. Your clothes change in temperature as the weather does and don't even think about leaving a black shirt on top of the clothes pile - you will be quite toasty if you decide you want to wear that particular item. You can't have much room either - and it will most likely, even if you do laundry, start to smell since the clothing will be either in the back seat, on the floor or even in the trunk. Overall, leaving a few items of clothing like a sweatshirt and a pair of shoes in your car seems reasonable, but holding your entire closet and dresser in their is downright gross.

as much as i hate speaking in slogans, "desperate times call for desperate measures." i have a few friends who live out of their cars. it's either that or sleeping on the street. and sleeping on the street in this weather is a death wish. you'd be suprised at how many few possessions you really need to live comfortably. nevermind a car, you could live out of your back pack. as for showering, brushing your teeth...etc.. in my experiences, you find friends whose bathrooms you may use, or use public restrooms, although it may be difficult to come across a public shower. over the summer, i scouted out dorm showers...living humbly doesn't demand being unfashionable or dirty. one of my most high fashion conscious male friends, who people would consider a "metrosexual," lived out of his car for a period of time. nobody would have imagined...

one more thing, a useful tip: ziplock bags. big ones. to separate what's dirty from what's clean.
that's too bad that not everyone is so fortunate as you to not have to worry about where you will live next. soon you will grow to realize that you have to struggle for your possessions and what is "fashionable" no longer matters. do you think that these people care if they have the latest fashions? i find this more sad: that you are judging these people that have nothing and still find enjoyment in life. i presume your parents are still handing you everything. once you have struggled on your own, then pass judgement.
